Oh where do I start. I was a camper from the age of 8 many years ago here at the ranch. That was where I became a christian and never once did I look back on my decision. I am forever grateful for the staff and people that were present when I became a christian.
I remember always meeting the coolest people at camp and creating the most ridiculous memories ( I once sat in the commitment pond fully clothed and refused to get out because it was such a childlike thing to do and I loved it! ). I, not too long after being a camper, became a staff member! When I was 14 I volunteered as many weeks as my parents would let me to work at this spectacular place and each year since then I have returned as a volunteer ( never able to commit an entire summer sadly).
Six years down the road, I still always manage to get a few weeks in here and there. I always tend to forget what the outside world is like when I'm at BBR. Everytime I drive through the birch bay gates I can't help but smile at the silly things that have gone down at that place. It has definitely shaped my kwerky personality and I have developed the most incredible friendships being involved with this camp. One of my most favorite things: running into a camper in the outside world and having them recognize me and having just a moment of awkward nostalgia of Birch Bay.
