Influence of Birch Bay Ranch

My name is Sarah Peterson and Birch Bay Ranch has been a special part of my life since I first went to summer camp when I was seven years old. I first heard about Birch Bay from my church and some friends who were campers there. They told me all about how much fun it was with the horse-back riding, zip lines and all of the cool staff members. I remember hearing about how much the camp involved God in everything that the staff and campers did and for me, being raised in a Christian home, I thought that it was great.

I went to Birch Bay and everything was better than my friends said that it was so I kept going back for quite a few years until I could volunteer and become a staff member. Being a staff member has taught me so much. I know that I would not be the person I am today if I didn’t have Birch Bay as a sanctuary and comfortable place for all of those years. When life for me was tough a bit this past year I knew that I could go back to Birch Bay and be welcomed back without hesitation. I love being a part of the ministry there and seeing all of those kids with smiles on their faces as they do their activities. I know how much of an influence Birch Bay Ranch has had in my life and I’ve seen it work in the lives of others.

I have watched the campers that I have had in my cabins go back to the camp year after year and have seen their knowledge of God grow. They learn so much and I know that they do because I learned so much when I was a camper there. My faith has grown so much because of the time that I have spent at Birch Bay and I appreciate everything that the ranch has done for me and my family. I really hope that this ministry can continue and that many more children will learn about God because of Birch Bay Ranch.
