I have been coming back to Birch Bay for six years now, and I can honestly say that this place has shaped me into the person I am today. Every year I return to the ranch with a smile on my face, knowing that I have another year of amazing opportunity to learn and grow in the knowledge of God.
This past summer I had an incredible first time volunteering as staff, teaching kids about God. I am so glad I was able to open some children's eyes to see Jesus’ love just as the staff has done for me years ago. It was at Birch Bay where I discovered Jesus’ love for me, where I made many of my most cherished friendships, and where my life as a Christian truly began.
The first bible verse I learned -I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13- Is something that I use on a daily basis. Whenever I am scared or in doubt, I remember God’s love for me, and how the ranch has taught me to not be afraid.
Birch Bay Ranch is not like any regular camp. It is a place of growth, friendship and forgiveness. There is an atmosphere of love around the camp, and I truly hope that next summer I will be able to return to it. Birch bay will always hold a special place in my heart, a place that marks the beginning of my journey as a christian.
