News Update

The Board of Directors for the Birch Bay Ranch Association (BBRA), who are the same board members for North Pointe Community Church (NPCC), have decided to delay the decision to transfer the land and assets to NPCC. All of the land and assets currently belong to the BBRA, and will remain as such.

For the Heart of Birch Bay Ranch and all of its supporters (YOU!) this is good news.  It means Birch Bay Ranch has a little more time to seek counsel, gather funds and rally the support that will help us to develop a passionate and effective board, and ensure the ministry continues successfully into the future.

Here is the official statement:

Further to the information meeting, the Boards of the NPCC and the BBRA have decided to slow the process of separation of NPCC and BBRA. The decision has been made to defer the decision to transfer the land/Property to NPCC. The BBRA will continue in the short term to be governed as it has since its inception. The two organizations will separate financially to allow BBR to become financially self-sufficient as an independent organization going forward.

Birch Bay Ranch will still be governed by the same Board of Directors that governs NPCC, although NPCC has decided they would like to separate from the ministry of BBR, including separating financially.  We hope to use the coming time to prove that the Ranch is both a viable business and a productive ministry, without the express financial support of NPCC.

It is our hope that after we prove BBR can survive financially without NPCC that the Board of Directors will separate from the BBRA without transferring the land/assets from the BBRA.  We hope that once BBR proves its financial stability that the board will allow the BBRA to amend its bylaws to redefine its membership and enable us to elect a new Board of Directors for the BBRA that is separate from NPCC and passionate about Birch Bay Ranch.  This will mean a very positive future!

In the meantime, we ask that you continue to stay involved! We are so grateful for the passion and care you’ve shown for Birch Bay Ranch in the past few months. The delay of the decision to transfer the land has been a great step for the BBRA, but it is only one step on the long journey we still face. The Heart of Birch Bay Ranch needs to you! Your help bringing Birch Bay Ranch into a bright, sustainable future will be key in ensuring its success.

In mid-January, we will be hosting an Alumni Reunion Banquet out at the Ranch, and you’re invited! We hope to use this time to meet fellow BBR supporters and alumni, reminisce about good times, and continue building a wonderful base of support for the Ranch. Please keep this in mind, tell your BBR Alumni friends, and stay tuned for more information about this event!

Please continue to check back with us for more news about Birch Bay Ranch. Please pray for BBR, its Board of Directors, and its staff. And please consider donating to Birch Bay Ranch – we need your help now more than ever!

If you have any questions or want to know how to get more involved, please email birchbayranch@gmail.com.

Thank you!
